Well, I was one of the people who saw bootlegs of Eva 1.0. I then wrote the long winded, somewhat inconsistent in relevancy, Eva Verses on Evafanfics.org. I think people just have to plug on, trying to rekindle the spark. The fact that the new films aren't getting the warmest reception isn't helping. I'm working on two seperate Eva stories currently, one is a collaboration. So do know that some people are working and keeping quiet. The storm of stories might be just round the corner.
